Responsibility
It will be the responsibility of the ranking supervisor on duty to coordinate the arrival of the fire department or the ambulance. The supervisor will see that the fire department is met and escorted to the location of the emergency and will supervise any assistance rendered by LMK personnel.
Once the supervisor has assessed the situation, he will contact the LMK Manager (or his designee) and inform him of the incident and the possible consequences to other buildings, equipment, etc.
Evacuations
Individual building evacuation plans will be posted on bulletin boards in those buildings, which have personnel assigned to them. Your Safety Committee solicits your comments and plans to further safeguard personnel and equipment. (Refer to evacuation route plans illustrated in this chapter.)
Media Person
Should a newsworthy incident, such as a fire, accident, or similar occur at a District facility, all inquires will be directed to the LMK Manager and all news releases will come from his office. It is important that no erroneous reports are released and that all releases MUST be made in this manner.
Directories
Directories listing telephone numbers and responding agencies will be posted on your bulletin boards in each area. They will also be located in the front office.
