Frequent and abrupt changes in geometries that require rapid maneuvers (such as lane narrowing,

dropped lanes, or main roadway transitions) should be avoided. Provisions should be made for

the safe operation of work vehicles, particularly on high-speed, high-volume roadways.

Construction time should be minimized to reduce exposure to potential hazards.

Use by Public Utilities Company-Consent

No ditches, drains, track, rails, poles, wires, pipeline, or other equipment shall be located, placed,

or constructed upon or along any highway, or any township or district road, other than a highway

or road within a municipality without first obtaining the written consent of the appropriate

highway authority as hereinafter provided for in this Section.

Upon receipt of a petition therefore, consent to so use a highway may be granted subject to such

terms and conditions not inconsistent with this code as the highway authority deems for the best

interest of the public. LMK Pipe Renewal shall pay the owners of property abutting upon the

affected highways established as though by common law plat all damages the owners may

sustain by reason of such use of the highway, such damages to be ascertained and paid in the

manner provided by law for the exercise of the right of eminent domain.

Permits

The written consent for utility occupancy required by statue is provided by procedures involving

the application for and the issuance of permits on forms standardized by the State of Florida. No

utility work shall be started on a state highway right of way until an approved permit has been

issued.

Traffic Protection

LMK Pipe Renewal is responsible for providing and installing warning signs, protective devices

and flagmen, when necessary, meeting the State of Florida requirements for protection of the

traveling public and the utility workers when performing any work on the right of way. This is a

very important responsibility and LMK Pipe Renewal is subject to the same traffic protection

requirements as a contractor or state forces working on the right of way. The State of Florida

minimum requirements for traffic protection in the "Florida Manual on Uniform Traffic Control

Devices for Streets and Highways". LMK Pipe Renewal shall take immediate action to correct

any deficiencies in traffic protection requirements that are brought to LMK Pipe Renewal

attention by the State.
